It has been an extremely difficult time for my wife and me since our Son passed away in November 2023. We chose Ballard and Shortall , not just because they are close to where we live, but we had already experienced their excellent service.
The sense of understanding concerning the emotions and difficulties we were experiencing was exceptional. The service provided was excellent and nothing was too much. We were extremely grateful that with Bobbie and Amy’s support we were able to give our Son the wonderful send off he so richly deserved.

I cannot rate Ballard and Shortall highly enough for their care, compassion and sympathy following the death of my father a few months ago.
From the outset Amy was extremely professional, but also very kind and sensitive to our family who were all still in shock. We especially appreciated her attending the premises on a Saturday so that we could visit my Dad for one last time.
Ballard and Shortall did an excellent job on the day of my father’s funeral, everything ran like clockwork and they were extremely respectful. We would also highly recommend the celebrant Andy Strivens who Ballard and Shortall recommended. He was amazing, extremely kind and wrote a wonderful eulogy which he delivered on the day.
Highly recommended

How lovely to hear from you. I hope you and your wonderful team are well.
Yes, I would be delighted to give you a review. When I next see my daughter I will ask her how I ‘post ‘ a review, something similar to the below. She’s far more techie than l.
As I said to you in person , I was absolutely delighted with the way in which you handled my dear Mums funeral . Especially given the very difficult situation at the time.
You gave her the ‘ send off’ she wanted.
More women should be funeral directors . although having said that , not just any woman but women like yourselves and your team who deal with customers with kindnesses, compassion, female intuition , dignity and understanding . Gently guiding one through a very traumatic experience and delivering amazing results.
My lasting memory of Mums funeral will be one of a celebration of her life.

The last two years have been really tough and an emotional roller coaster, with the loss of my dear parents within 22 days of each other late in 2022 and my uncles passing on the very same day as my dad the previous year in 2023. I can’t begin to thank the team at Ballard & Shortall for the huge support they have been. They were so caring and patient in the way they helped us through such a challenging and difficult time, nothing was too much trouble. The time they spent going through what we needed and wanted to give everyone the send-off they deserved. The service given was outstanding, and not just with the funerals themselves. The after care in dealing with the interment of ashes, and the organising of headstones, was again so considerate. We truly appreciated their kindness, empathy and personal touches that made everything so fitting for our departed loved ones. A simple Thank You is not enough. I couldn’t recommend any funeral director more highly.

I cannot give more than 5 stars, but I wish that I could.
The team at Ballard and Shortall could not have been more helpful, more caring, more professional and more understanding. They are not just a service, they are now friends, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From losing Dad in early 2022, followed by Mum in April 2023, they could not have been better. From Amy and Jo, to the drivers, and to "Shorty", their total professionalism was exemplary. We were recommended to them for Dad's service by a close friend of Mum's, and when it was time to arrange Mum's we didn't need to look elsewhere....Mum just wanted a repeat of what she had arranged for Dad. Having Dad's details to hand saved time, indecision and undue distress, and Jo and Amy understood clearly.
If you do lose a loved one, Ballard and Shortall will make the worst time so much easier, and they will help you through everything, from the order of service to choosing music. Nothing is too much for them, and deserve the highest praise possible.
ps. If you're feeling a bit "off" at any time, they are always there to help - whether its a chat in the office, or a random encounter in the supermarket.

I recently used the services of Ballard & Shortall for a double funeral and was thoroughly impressed with their ability to handle the logistics end-to-end. They offered invaluable guidance, advice, and support throughout, helping us to make well-informed decisions. From start to finish, the entire arrangements and actual service were seamless and handled with great care, sensitivity, and precision. We really appreciated the special arrangement they made to allow access to the chapel of rest and help make special allowances for a special needs family member. All in all, we are incredibly grateful for their assistance during this very difficult time and highly recommend their services.

I recently lost my Wife after a short illness and everybody at Ballard and Shortall were so kind , professional and empathetic.
They helped with all the arrangements even down to suggesting a venue for the wake.
My wife`s funeral, given the circumstances, was a wonderful send off.
My sons and myself would especially like to thank Jo, she was amazing throughout.
